Swastik Marble Works

You can find us at number 29 on Great Nag Road, right near Baidyanath Square. This part of the district is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. We deal with marble works, which basically means we spend our days surrounded by heavy stone slabs and the sound of cutting tools. It’s a gritty job and our hands are usually covered in stone dust by lunch. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time now. The building is older and has some character, or at least that’s what we tell ourselves when the roof leaks a little during the heavy rains. We don’t have any fancy sales people in suits here. It is just us and the machines. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit outside and wait for it to come back so we can finish the work. Customers usually come in with measurements scribbled on bits of paper. We look at what they need and show them what we have in the yard. Great Nag Road is a busy stretch, so there is always a bit of a roar from the traffic outside. We close up when the sun goes down, or a bit later if we have a big order to get ready for the next morning. It’s a straightforward business and we don’t try to make it seem like anything more than it is.
