Ganga Marbles

Ganga Marbles is at Plot No. 7, right by the Gangabai Ghat Square. It’s a busy intersection on Nandan Road. If you find yourself near the Gangabai Ghat Chowk, you’re basically there. We’ve been operating out of this plot for a good while. It’s basically an open yard where we keep the marble and stone slabs. The sun can get pretty hot out there during the afternoon, so we spend a lot of time under the small tin roof near the entrance. It's not a fancy setup. We have a few plastic chairs for when people want to sit and talk about their building projects. Most of the day is spent checking the inventory or helping someone load a truck. The slabs are heavy and cold to the touch, and they come in all sorts of colors that look different depending on how the light hits them. We don't use any big words to describe them; they are just stones that people use for their houses. The traffic at the square is always humming in the background. Sometimes a customer brings a sample of their tiles to see if our marble matches, and we spend time laying things out on the ground to check. It’s just how the days go here. We keep it simple and just focus on the work in front of us without any fuss. It's a lot of lifting, but it’s good honest work.
