Seventh Day Adventist High School

We are out here in Khapri, right by the DY Patil International area. It’s a bit of a trek from the center of Nagpur, but it’s quieter this way. Most days start pretty early when the sun is just coming up over the fields. The school building has been part of this landscape for a while now. You see the kids getting off the buses, some looking tired and others already running around the yard. We spend a lot of time just keeping things running. There is always a desk that needs fixing or a window that won't quite shut right. It’s not fancy, just a place where learning happens. Being a Seventh Day Adventist school, things follow a certain rhythm. We focus on the basics. Sometimes the internet is slow because we are a bit further out, but we make do. The staff room is usually where the real talk happens over tea. We discuss which student is struggling or how the playground needs more shade. It’s a regular life here. We just tell them to look for the big gates. It's nothing special to look at from the outside, but it's where we spend all our time and energy day after day.
