Sethurajan Padma School

You can find Sethurajan Padma School at Plot No 85 in Gurukunj Nagar, just off Manewada Road in Nagpur. It’s a residential kind of area, so the school fits right into the neighborhood. We aren't a huge school with hundreds of rooms. It’s a more compact setup. Manewada Road is always humming with activity, but once you turn into Gurukunj Nagar, it gets a bit quieter. We have been here at Plot No 85 for years. The school day starts early, and you can hear the kids reciting their lessons if you walk past. It’s not a polished, corporate environment at all. We have peeling paint in some corners and the playground is mostly just dirt, but the children don’t seem to mind. We handle everything ourselves, from fixing the gate to talking to parents who are worried about their child’s grades. It’s a lot of personal interaction. Nagpur gets incredibly hot, as everyone knows, so the afternoons can be a bit of a struggle for everyone. We try to keep the kids comfortable with whatever fans we have. It’s just a normal, local school where we know most of the parents by name. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything; we just rely on being a steady presence in the community. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it a long time.
