The office for Salasar Alloy And Steel Industries is up on the fourth floor of Heera Plaza. If you know the area near Telephone Exchange Square, you know how hectic the traffic can get around here during the morning rush. We’ve been operating from this spot for a while now, focusing on the steel and alloy side of things. It’s not a very fancy place, just a regular workspace with desks piled high with invoices and technical sheets for different grades of metal. Most of the day is spent on the phone talking to suppliers or coordinating with the guys at the plant to make sure the batches are coming out right. Sometimes the elevator in the plaza acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is a bit of a workout. We deal with a lot of industrial clients who need specific steel components for their projects. It’s a lot of back-and-forth about specifications and delivery dates. The team here is small, mostly people who have been in the metal industry for years and don't mind the dust or the constant noise of the city outside. We usually grab tea from the stall downstairs around mid-afternoon. It’s honest work, keeping track of the inventory and making sure the orders for the alloys are processed without too many glitches. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but the fans keep things moving while we sort through the daily paperwork and logbooks.
