Laxmi Beauty Parlour & Training Center

Laxmi Beauty Parlour & Training Center is located in the New Bidipetijinp area of Nagpur, specifically near Charcti. It is a busy little place because we do two things at once here. Half of the shop is for the ladies coming in to get their hair done or get ready for a local wedding, and the other half is where I teach the younger girls how to do the work themselves. It gets quite crowded with all the stools and the practice heads we use for training. Nagpur is a hot city, so the shop can get a bit stuffy when there are six or seven of us inside, but we keep the windows open. The walls are lined with shelves holding threads, lotions, and old magazines for people to look at while they wait. We’ve been in this part of Nagpur for a while now, and everyone knows where we are. It isn't a fancy place with air conditioning or soft music, just the sound of people talking and the hum of the street outside. I spend my days showing the students how to hold the thread correctly for eyebrows or how to mix the henna. It’s hard work and my back often hurts by five o'clock, but it’s good to see the girls learning a trade. We just keep going, day after day, helping the neighborhood ladies look their best for whatever they have going on in their lives.
