Hemkoot Stone Ind.

Our place, Hemkoot Stone Ind., is located at C16 in Thapar House on Temple Road, right in the Civil Line area. It is a bit different being in Civil Line compared to being out in the industrial outskirts, but it works for us. We handle a lot of stone work, and the yard can get pretty noisy when we are cutting or moving things around. Thapar House is a well-known spot around here, so people don't usually have trouble finding us. We have been at this location for a long time, and the walls are a bit stained from the stone dust over the years. Inside, it's mostly just piles of ledgers and some samples of the stone we work with. We don't have any shiny brochures or people in suits walking around. It's mostly just us in our work clothes, dealing with the daily grind of the stone business. The traffic on Temple Road can be a bit of a headache when we are trying to get a delivery out, but we manage to get it done. Sometimes we have to work late if a particular job is taking longer than we thought it would. It’s a lot of physical work, and your back feels it by the end of the week. We just keep going, piece by piece, making sure we have enough stock for whoever comes through the door. I suppose there are easier ways to make a living, but this is what we started doing years ago and it stuck.
