Infosys Data Tech

Infosys Data Tech is our little operation in Pattabuka, which is out in the Nadia district. We are far away from the big cities and the noise of the traffic. Our office is set up in a simple building that fits right in with the rest of the village. We have a few computers and we spend our days doing data work. It is quiet here, mostly you just hear the birds or the occasional motorbike going past. We are all local people from Nadia. We didn't want to move to Kolkata for work, so we decided to do something here in Pattabuka instead. The work involves a lot of looking at screens and typing in numbers. It can be a bit boring for some people, but we find it okay. We take breaks to sit outside and have some tea. Since we are in a rural area, we sometimes have to deal with things like bugs getting into the office or the power going out when there is a storm. We just have a backup battery and keep going as long as we can. It is a different way of working than what you see in the movies. We don't wear suits or anything like that. We just come in, do our shifts, and go back to our homes nearby. It’s a good setup for us. We like the peace and being able to work in our own district. It's home.
