Venkatesh Bhavan

Venkatesh Bhavan is situated at number 1475 on Mission Hospital Road in the Mandi Mohalla area of Mysore. We are very close to Kanan Lab, so we get a lot of people coming by who are visiting the lab or the hospital nearby. Mandi Mohalla is an older part of town with narrow streets and a lot of history. Our building is a simple structure that has been part of this street for a long time. Inside, it is mostly just a functional space for people to sit. We don't have any wall art or fancy furniture. The chairs are mismatched sometimes and the tables have seen a lot of use. We start our day early, getting the water boiling and prep work done before the street gets too crowded. The smell of coffee often fills the front area in the mornings. We see a lot of medical staff and families who are dealing with hospital business. It is a somber but busy environment. We try to keep things moving quickly because people often don't have a lot of time to spare. The noise from the hospital road is constant, with ambulances and rickshaws passing by at all hours. We do all our own chores, from mopping the floors to handling the accounts at the end of the night. It is just a small, local establishment serving the people who find themselves in this corner of Mysore.
