Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement

We are based out in Saragur, which is a bit of a drive from Mysore city. Our place is on Hanchipura Road in the HD Kote Taluk area. It’s very green out here, lots of fields and open space. Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement is what we call ourselves, but to the locals, we are just the people working in that building down the road. We do a lot of different things depending on what is needed that day. Sometimes it’s about health, other times it’s just helping out someone with paperwork. The staff here is mostly local, so we speak the same language and know the struggles people face around Saragur. It’s not a fancy setup. Our desks are old, and the fans make a bit of noise, but it gets the job done. We spend a lot of time out in the villages too, not just sitting in the office. The roads can be bumpy, especially after the rains. We don't have a big budget for decorations, so we just keep things clean and functional. It’s honest work, and we like the people we meet. Sometimes we sit outside under the trees to have our lunch. It’s a quiet life compared to the city, and we prefer it that way. We aren't trying to change the world overnight, just doing our part here in the taluk one day at a time.
