Sri Balaji Mess

This mess is located at 164/1 on Ganesh Bhandar road. It’s a quiet enough part of T K Layout in Mysore. We are very close to the actual Ganesh Bhandar, so that is how most folks find their way to our door. It’s a small mess, not a big restaurant. We focus on simple meals that don't cost too much. It’s the kind of place where students and workers come because it’s quick and tastes like home cooking. We have been in 570009 for several years. The building is older, but it stays cool inside. We don’t have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that do the job. My family helps out with the serving and the cleaning. We don't have a big menu, just a few things we make well every day. People come in, eat, and go about their business. It’s a practical setup. Sometimes we chat with the regulars about the news or the weather. We aren't trying to be the most popular place in Mysore, just a reliable one for the neighborhood. If you are walking down Ganesh Bhandar road, you’ll see our small sign. There's no need to dress up or anything. Just come in if you are hungry. We stay open until the food runs out, which is usually late afternoon. It’s just a simple life here in the mess. We just want to serve a good meal.
