About Sindhoora Andra Style Family Restaurant – Tourism in Mysore
We are located at the Bhairava Complex near Balal Circle in Mysore. If you’re coming from the Chamarajapuram side, we are right opposite the railway underbridge. You can usually hear the trains passing by every now and then, which is just part of the atmosphere here. The restaurant is a family-style place, so we have larger tables for groups to sit together. We focus on Andhra cooking, which means we use a lot of spices and chilies in our kitchen. The air often smells like fried curry leaves and roasted peppers. It’s a busy spot, especially during the lunch hour when the office workers nearby come in for a quick meal. We don't have a lot of frills. The plates are stainless steel and the water glasses are always filled up quickly because the food can get quite hot. We spend a lot of time in the morning grinding our own masalas because that’s how we’ve always done it. My brother usually handles the floor and I stay near the kitchen to make sure things are moving along. It’s hard work and the kitchen gets very hot, but we like being part of the Chamarajapuram community. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the railway bridge and our little corner have stayed pretty much the same. We just keep serving food and trying to keep the place running smoothly every single day.
