Sankranthi Bar & Restaurant

Sankranthi Bar & Restaurant is located on Irwin Road in Mysore. It is a fairly central spot in the city. The road itself is an old one, with lots of character and many old buildings. We are in a structure that has been there for quite some time. The interior is divided into a bar section and a place for food. It is not the most modern looking place, but it has its regulars who like it that way. The furniture is heavy wood and the lighting is a bit dim in the corners. We get a lot of office workers coming in after five, and during the day, it is mostly people who are in town for errands on Irwin Road. It is a noisy street outside with plenty of bus traffic. Sometimes the smell of exhaust comes in when the doors are left open. We do not have a big fancy sign, just the name written above the door. The kitchen produces a lot of steam and the staff is always moving between the tables. We do not bother with social media or any of that. If you live in Mysore and walk down Irwin Road, you have probably passed us a hundred times. It is just a place to sit down, have a drink, and eat something without any pretense. We keep things simple and focus on the daily chores of running the business. (248 words)
