Leela Veg Palace

Down here on Ashoka Road in Mysore, we’ve got Leela Veg Palace. We are pretty easy to find because we are quite close to St Philomenas Church, which is a big landmark everyone knows. We mostly serve people who are walking by or visiting the church and want something to eat that isn't too expensive. The kitchen stays busy starting from early morning when we get the first batch of coffee and breakfast ready. It’s a simple setup with tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't have a massive menu, just the usual vegetarian dishes that people expect around here. Our cooks have been in the kitchen for a long time and they know the routine by heart now. On weekends it gets a bit more crowded with families coming in after seeing the sights. We spend a lot of time just wiping down tables and making sure the floor stays clean since people are always coming in and out. The building at No. 351 isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but it works for what we do. We try to keep the service quick because most people are in a hurry to get back to their day. It’s a local spot where the staff might recognize you if you come in more than once. We just keep things moving and make sure there is enough food for the lunch rush.
