The shop is on HPCL Road, right in the middle of the Hebbal Industrial Estate. It’s been here since before some of these factories were even built. We open up pretty early because the workers start their shifts and they want something solid before they go in. Being near Cauvery Ford means we get a lot of mechanics and drivers coming through. It's a busy corner of Mysore. The kitchen is small but we manage. We don't do anything complicated, just the kind of meals you'd have at home. My hands usually smell like curry leaves and onions by noon. We use a lot of local spices we get from the market. The fans are always running to keep the heat down, but it’s still warm in here. We have some wooden benches and a few tables that have seen better days. It's not a place for a fancy date, but if you're hungry, it works. Sometimes the water truck is late or the power goes out, and we just deal with it. My brother handles the billing while I stay in the back. We see the same people every single day, and we know who wants extra rice without them even asking. It’s just how things go at a lunch home like this. We’ve been at No. 54 for years and don't plan on moving. It is hard work but we are used to the routine.
