Kaliyuva Mane

Our place is tucked away in Kenchalagudu Village, near the Dhanagalli Post on Manandavadi Road. It’s a bit of a drive from the main part of Mysore, but that is how we like it. The area is very green and quiet compared to the city. We have a lot of space for the kids to run around and explore. It isn't a traditional school building with rows of identical desks. It feels more like a small village of its own. We spend a lot of our time outside, whether we are gardening or just sitting under the trees for a lesson. The people working here live nearby or stay on the grounds, so it’s a very close-knit group. We don't follow a strict corporate schedule. We eat together and look after the place ourselves. Sometimes the rain makes the paths muddy and we have to spend the morning cleaning up, but that is part of living in a village. The kids here come from different backgrounds, and we just try to give them a place where they feel okay being themselves. It’s a slow pace of life on Manandavadi Road, and we don’t really rush anything. We just keep the gates open for those who need a place to learn and live in a natural way. We often end the day watching the sun go down over the fields.
