Iyengar Meals N Chats

We are over at Iyengar Meals N Chats in Saraswathipuram on 11th Main, right near the Honda point. It’s a quiet neighborhood in Mysore, mostly houses and students from the nearby colleges. Our place is No.159. We start very early because people want their breakfast before work. You can smell the coffee and the spices from the street. It’s a small shop, mostly for meals and quick snacks. We don’t have much room for fancy decorations, so we just keep it clean and simple. The tables are basic wood, and the chairs have been here for years. Most of our customers are regulars who live just a few blocks away. They come in, eat their meal, and chat for a bit before heading out. We know what most people want before they even say it. The kitchen is right there, so you can see us working. We don't have a big team, just family and a couple of helpers. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the afternoon, and we just have to tell people to wait for the next batch. It’s a humble way to make a living. We spend our afternoons cleaning up and getting things ready for the evening rush. It’s not a fancy life, but we like being part of the neighborhood. The students always bring a bit of life to the place when they come in groups. Sometimes we sit out front on the bench for a minute when the shop is quiet. You can see people going about their business on the street.
