Hakka Chinese Restaurant

Our restaurant is located on Kalidasa Road in the Vani Vilas Mohalla area of Mysore. We are actually tucked away in the basement level, right below Dolma Beauty Salon and next to the Sony Centre. It’s a busy part of Vijayanagar, so there’s always something happening outside. We focus on Chinese food, the kind that’s been adapted for local tastes. It’s not a huge place, so it can feel a bit cozy when there are more than a few families inside. We’ve kept the decor pretty simple over the years. We didn’t see the need for anything too flashy. Most of our customers are students or people living in the neighborhood who don't feel like cooking. The kitchen is visible from some parts of the seating area, so you can hear the chefs working. We try to get the food out as fast as we can, though on Friday nights it takes a bit longer than usual. The stairs coming down can be a little steep, so you have to watch your step. We don’t do any fancy marketing or have a social media person. It’s just us serving noodles and rice to whoever walks in. Sometimes the AC acts up a bit when it’s really hot outside, but we do our best to fix it quickly. It’s just a regular local joint where you can get a decent meal without spending too much. We focus on keeping the pans hot and the sauces ready.
