G F C Gowdas Fried Chicken

You can find us right across from the Jagan Mohan Palace in Mysore. The shop is at No 248/2 on Deshika Road in Devaraja Mohalla. It’s a lively part of town and we get a lot of people walking by after they visit the palace. We’ve been frying chicken here for a good while now. It’s a small place, nothing like those big chain restaurants you see in the fancy malls. We just have our fryers and a few tables. My family helps out with everything from cleaning the chicken to serving the customers. We spend most of our hours in the heat of the kitchen. It’s hard work and your clothes always smell like oil at the end of the day. We don't use any special machines, just basic stuff that works. Sometimes the evening rush gets a bit crazy and people have to wait a little while on the sidewalk. We try to be as quick as we can but you can't rush the cooking if you want it to be right. The 570001 neighborhood is a good place to be. We know the other shop owners around here and we all look out for each other. We don't have any big slogans or missions. We just open the shutters in the morning and start cooking. If you're near Jagan Mohan Palace, you'll see our sign. It's just a regular local spot for anyone who is hungry.
