Etihad Arabian Restaurant

Our restaurant is at number 156, on the 2nd Cross of B M Road in Siddique Nagar, Mysore. We are situated right near the auto stand, so there are always drivers around and the sound of engines. It is a simple place where we cook a lot of rice and meat dishes every day. The kitchen starts early in the morning when we get the fires going and start prepping the meat. We have a few big pots that are almost always on the stove. Inside, the seating is just plain tables and some chairs where people can sit down and eat quickly. We get a lot of people who work nearby or travelers passing through Mysore. It’s not the kind of place where you find fancy tablecloths or waiters in uniforms. We just wear what is comfortable for working in a hot kitchen. Sometimes it gets a bit smoky when the grills are going, but we open the doors to let the air in. We stay open pretty late because that is when a lot of people in Siddique Nagar like to eat. The auto stand nearby means there is always someone looking for a meal even late at night. We just keep things moving, serving plate after plate until the food runs out for the day. It’s hard work and it gets hot, but it is what we do.
