Da Chinese House

We set up shop here in Kuvempunagar on the Vishwamanva Double Road. We are pretty close to the Vijaya Bank Circle, which is a busy part of Mysore. Most days you can see people rushing past our door on their way to work or the bank. We started this place because we wanted to do something of our own. It’s just a small shop, number 8 in the row. Inside, it’s nothing too special, just some wooden tables and the smell of the stove going all day. We do a lot of takeout orders because people are always in a hurry around here. Sometimes the rain in Mysore catches people off guard, and they crowd inside our shop to stay dry while they wait for their food. We handle all the cooking ourselves, mostly. It gets busy in the evenings when the street lights come on and everyone is looking for dinner. We have a few regular customers who come in every Tuesday without fail. It's nice to know people's orders before they even speak a word. We don't use any fancy machines, just basic pans and a lot of heat. The floor gets a bit scuffed from all the shoes, but we scrub it every night before we leave. Running a food place is tiring, but it keeps us on our toes. We just try to stay consistent with what we serve every single day. We don't change the menu much because folks like what they know. It is enough for us.
