About Chandana Non Veg Restaurant – Tourism in Mysore
Our restaurant is tucked away at No. 1606 on Kabir Road in the Mandi Mohalla area of Mysore. We are situated right near Vinayaka Lodge, which makes us pretty easy to find if you are familiar with the neighborhood. We specialize in non-vegetarian dishes, mostly because that’s what we grew up eating and cooking at home. The shop isn't very large, but it has enough room for several tables where people can sit and enjoy their meal. We start our day quite early, heading to the market to pick out the meat and spices we need for the day's menu. Everything is cooked in the back in large pots that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't bother with fancy menus or colorful decorations. Most people come here because they know what to expect and they like the way we prepare the food. It gets quite busy during the dinner hours, with the smell of spices filling the air on Kabir Road. Sometimes we run out of certain items before the night is over, especially on weekends when more families come out to eat. We just do things the old-fashioned way without any modern gadgets or complicated processes. It’s a lot of manual work, cleaning and prepping, but seeing people finish their plates makes it feel worth it. We’re just a local Mysore spot doing our thing and keeping the kitchen going as long as we can.
