Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

Out in Patahi, Muzaffarpur, you will find our Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. It is a bit away from the main rush of the city, which is actually quite nice for the students who live here. The campus is fairly large, and there is a lot of green space around, though we struggle to keep the grass trimmed during the heavy rain months. Life here is very much tied to the clock. We wake up early, have our morning assembly, and then the lessons start. Since it is a residential setup, the teachers and students spend a lot of time together. It isn't always easy managing hundreds of kids living under one roof, and things can get a bit chaotic in the dining hall during lunch. We have people from all over the district coming here. The buildings have been around for a while, so they have that lived-in feel, with marks on the walls and old wooden desks that have seen many years of use. We don't go for anything fancy. The focus is always on the daily lessons and making sure the hostel runs smoothly. You might find a stray cricket bat in the hallway or some laundry drying in the sun, but that is just how it is when people live and learn in the same place. It is a simple life in Patahi, and we just keep moving forward one day at a time, trying to keep everything organized.
