About English Edge Prep Public Residential School – Education in Muzaffarpur
This school sits on Road Number 1 in Bajrangpuram, right off the Rewa Road. It is a residential place, so the kids are here day and night for months at a time. That means there is never really a quiet moment in the building. In the early mornings, you hear the bells and the sound of students rushing to the dining hall for their breakfast. It’s a big responsibility having kids live on the premises. We have to make sure the dorms are clean and the kitchen is cooking enough dal, rice, and vegetables for everyone. Muzaffarpur can get very dusty, especially in the dry season, so we are always sweeping the hallways to keep things tidy. The teachers mostly live nearby or stay in the staff quarters, so they are always around if someone needs something. It’s not like a regular day school where everyone leaves at three o'clock. Here, we have supervised study hours in the evening and activities on the weekends. The kids sometimes get homesick, especially the younger ones who are away from home for the first time, so the staff ends up playing a bit of a parent role too. The building is functional, with classrooms on the lower floors and sleeping areas above. We don't have huge fancy playgrounds, but there is enough space for them to move around and play. It feels more like a large, busy household than a formal institution most of the time. We just focus on the routine.
