Kunwarpur Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Kumarpur Lodhpur. Gulab Singh is the person who keeps things running from his place. We are a small group of producers from the village and the surrounding areas. Farming is our life, and it’s what we’ve always done. We didn’t start this company to get rich; we did it so we wouldn’t lose everything when the market changes. It’s a lot of work to keep everyone on the same page, but it’s worth it. We meet up regularly to talk about what we’re planting and how we can share the costs of transport. Shipping things to the city is expensive, so we try to fill up trucks together. It saves us all a bit of money. We aren't the type of people who like to sit behind a desk all day. We’d much rather be out checking the irrigation or looking at the plants. The address might say Lodhpur, but our work is spread out across all our different farms. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just talk to people face to face. If you need to find us, you just ask around for Gulab’s place. We are just trying to make a decent living and keep the land healthy for the next generation. It is a simple life, but it is ours and we are proud of it. We just keep going, no matter what.
