In Haradfatehpur, things move a bit slower than in the big cities, and we like it that way. Krishinayak Agri Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited is run out of Kabool Singh’s house, right near the village post office. Most of us here in Muzaffarnagar spend our lives in the fields, so it made sense to finally start a company where we could help each other out with tools and fertilizers. It gets incredibly hot here during the summer months, and sometimes the irrigation water is a real worry, but we manage. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to get a decent return on the wheat and sugarcane we put so much sweat into. You’ll usually find a bunch of us sitting in the courtyard talking about the weather or the price of diesel. It’s a messy business, dealing with bags of grain and fixing broken fences, and our clothes usually show it. There is no corporate talk here, just plain conversation about what needs to be done before the sun goes down.
