Yummy Yum

Yummy Yum is over in Mulund East, tucked into the 13th Cross of the 20th B Main in Venkateshwara Layout, Madiwala 1. It’s a residential area mostly. We wanted a place that felt like it belonged in the neighborhood. The shop isn't very large. We have a few tables and some posters on the wall that have been there forever. We serve a mix of things. Usually, we are in the back prepping the ingredients while the tea is boiling. The afternoon is usually quiet, but the evenings get very busy with people coming home from work. They stop by to pick up something for dinner. We have a delivery guy who uses a bicycle to get around the layout. Sometimes the orders get mixed up when we are rushed, and we have to fix it quickly. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name Yummy Yum painted on the front. The floor tiles are a bit chipped in the corner. We do all the cleaning ourselves at night. It’s just a family-run thing. We don't use any special technology, just a basic stove and some pans. Madiwala 1 is a nice spot because we know our neighbors. We talk to the people who walk their dogs past the shop. It isn't a glamorous life, but we like the routine. We just keep cooking and hope for the best.
