Our place is called Chheda House, and you can find us on Plot No-7 in the BMC Industrial Estate. It is on MG Cross Road Number 1, over in Sai Nagar, Kandivali West. It is a bit of a mouthful of an address, but it is home to us. Being Chheda Specialisties Foods means there is always something being packed or moved. The smell of snacks is pretty much part of the building now. It is an old-school industrial area, so do not expect anything shiny. The walls have some marks and the floors are worn down from years of people walking back and forth. We have a lot of people working here, mostly locals from around Kandivali. It is a lot of manual work—sorting, packing, and labeling. The machines make a lot of noise, so you have to talk loud to be heard. We do not have a big marketing department or anything. Most of our time is spent making sure the food is right and the bags are sealed properly. There is always a bit of a rush around the holidays when everyone wants snacks. It gets chaotic, with boxes piled up in every corner and the loading dock always full of trucks. But even when it is crazy, it feels like a solid place to be. We have been at this for years and we just keep doing what we know. It is just regular people making food for the city.
