Our office is Shop No 30 inside the Anthony Compound in Andheri West. If you know Andheri, you know it’s a place that never really stops moving. The compound is tucked away, and our shop is just one of many small businesses squeezed together. Yashika Wedding Planner is mostly run from a desk that’s buried under piles of paper, fabric swatches, and half-empty cups of coffee. We don't have a big display window or anything like that. It’s mostly just us on our phones, arguing with transporters or trying to find where the flower guy went. The walls are a bit thin, so we can hear everything going on next door, but we’re usually too busy to care. We spend a lot of our days walking around the compound or heading out to meet people at different venues. It’s a lot of walking and a lot of sweat, especially during the peak season when everything happens at once. We don't have a fancy mission statement or anything; we just try to get the chairs and the lights to the right place at the right time. Sometimes things go wrong, like a truck getting stuck in traffic or a tent losing a pole, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. It’s a bit chaotic, and our hair is usually a mess by the end of the day, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working in a place like this.
