Xcite Up Events

We've been running Xcite Up Events from our small spot here in Shop No 09 at Laxmi Chand Chawl for a while now. If you know Mathuradas Road in Kandivali West, you know it gets pretty busy around here. We are right opposite Vanza Wadi. Most days we are just busy sorting out things for people's functions and making sure everything is ready on time. It is not a very big office, but it works for us. Living and working in Mumbai means you get used to the noise and the constant movement. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic, but that is just how things go. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or running out to meet vendors. It isn't always glamorous work. There is a lot of heavy lifting and late nights involved in what we do. People come by the shop to chat about their plans and we try to figure out what fits. Being in Kandivali West, we see a lot of the same faces every day. It feels like a real community. We don't have a fancy reception or anything, just a desk and some chairs where we sit and go over the details. We just focus on getting the job done without too much fuss. Sometimes the tea stall nearby is where most of our brainstorming happens. It’s just us trying to make things work in this part of the city.
