World-Pharma Plc

If you find yourself on Makwana Road in the Marol area of Andheri East, you might see the Ark Industrial Estate. We are on the second floor there, in rooms 201 to 203. World-Pharma Plc is our name, but we don't really feel like a big corporation when we are climbing the stairs because the lift is being serviced again. Andheri East is a chaotic place to work. There are people everywhere and the noise from the street never really stops. Our rooms are packed with desks and filing cabinets. We deal with international pharmaceutical stuff, so the phones are often ringing at odd hours because of the time differences. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside with all the boxes of documents we have to keep for the records. We have a couple of fans that rattle a bit, but they keep the air moving. We aren't much for fancy presentations or polished speeches. Most of us just wear comfortable clothes and get on with the task at hand. The building itself is old and has that specific smell of an industrial estate—oil, dust, and old paper. We’ve gotten used to it over the years. We usually grab lunch from the local stalls downstairs. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy way to work, but it’s our routine and we’ve made it work for us despite the small frustrations of being in Marol.
