We are tucked away in the middle of Lohar Chawl at Off. 51 on Vithaldas Road. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know it’s a maze of narrow streets and packed shops. Our office is a small space where we manage everything for the business. It’s usually filled with piles of papers and samples of the materials we deal with. The area outside is always buzzing with carts being pushed around and people shouting to get through the crowd. It can be a bit overwhelming if you’re not used to it, but for us, it’s just where we work every day. We don’t have a big corporate setup. It’s mostly just us sitting at our desks, taking orders over the phone and coordinating with people. The building itself is quite old, like most of the structures around here, and it has that specific Mumbai character. We’ve spent years getting to know the other traders on the street. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, or the rain makes the lanes hard to navigate, but we just carry on. We focus on the practical side of things, making sure the orders go out on time and the books are kept in order. It’s a lot of manual work and staying on top of things in a very busy environment. We’ve been at this spot for a long time and wouldn't really know where else to go. It’s home for us now.
