Wing Chun Kung Fu Ma Association

If you head down J R Mhatre Road in Juhu, you will find us in the Moragaon area. This is not one of those fancy air-conditioned gyms you see in the movies. It is just a simple space where we practice Wing Chun. We have been here for a while, teaching whoever wants to learn. The sea is close by, so sometimes you can feel a bit of a breeze in the evening, but mostly it is just hot and sweaty work. We do not have big advertisements or glossy posters on the walls. Most of our students live around Juhu or come from the nearby settlements. They come here after work or school to blow off some steam and learn some moves. The floor is simple, and we have the wooden dummies set up for practice. It can get quite loud when everyone is training at once. We do not care much for formalities or fancy uniforms. You just show up, do the work, and go home when you are finished. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit during the heavy monsoon, and we just mop it up and keep going. It is about the practice, not about looking good for others. I have seen kids grow up here and become quite good at the forms over the years. We are not trying to run a big business; we just want to keep the tradition going in our corner of Moragaon. It is a quiet life centered around the association.
