Vishal Advertising Photography

If you head over to Parel and find Thakur Estate, you’ll see the Yashashree Co-op Housing Society. We are on the second floor in room 202. Vishal Advertising Photography is basically a workspace filled with cameras, tripods, and a lot of tangled cables. It’s not a polished studio you see in magazines. It’s a place where we actually work. Some days we are out on location, and other days we are stuck here editing on the computer until our eyes hurt. The light in Parel is actually quite nice in the mornings, which helps with some of our shots. We’ve been taking photos for local businesses and families for a long time. My brother helps with the lighting, and we have a small area set up for portraits. The building is a bit old, so you can hear the neighbors and the general bustle of Parel coming through the walls. We don't have a receptionist; if the phone rings, one of us just picks it up. We like it that way because we can talk directly to whoever needs a photo taken. It’s a simple life. We take pictures, we print them, and we make sure the clients are okay with what they get. We aren't trying to be the biggest studio in Mumbai. We just want to do a decent job with the camera. Sometimes we run out of coffee, and that's usually the biggest crisis of the week.
