Vinod Panipuri House

We are located in Chembur East at Suklikeri, right near Kengeri Satellite Town no23. It is a bit of a walk from the main station but people find us anyway. The shop is small and we mostly stand around the large pots of flavored water. We start prepping the potatoes and mashing the chickpeas early so everything is ready for the evening rush. Panipuri is what we do all day. Some people like it very spicy and others want it sweet, so we keep both waters ready in big steel containers. The puris come in large bags and we have to be careful not to break them when we handle them. It gets crowded around six in the evening when everyone is heading home. We do not have much room for chairs so most folks just stand around and eat from the small plates. Sometimes we run out of the spicy water faster than the sweet one. It is a loud place with everyone talking at once. My hands are usually wet all evening from dipping into the pots. We try to keep the area clean but with so many people it is a constant job. We have been in this spot for a good while and the neighbors know us well. It is just honest work selling snacks to hungry people in Chembur. We don't change much because people like it the way it has always been.
