Vikas Die Works

Vikas Die Works is over at Door No-E-6 in the Nand-Jyot Industrial Estate. It’s located in Safed Pool, right off the Andheri-Kurla Road in Sakinaka. This part of Mumbai is always packed with traffic, so getting here can take a bit of time regardless of how you travel. We specialize in making dies, which is very precise and detailed work that requires a lot of patience. The workshop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we put everything to avoid clutter. We have several machines that have been with us for years, and we know all their quirks and sounds. It’s often quite hot in the estate, especially during the summer months when the air doesn't move much. The guys are usually hunched over their benches focusing on the fine details of the metal. We don't have a separate office, just a small table in the corner where we keep the invoices and some pens. It’s a noisy environment with the constant sound of grinding and cutting going on all day. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a specific piece that a customer needs urgently for their own production. We’ve been part of the Sakinaka industrial community for a long time. People around here know us for the work we do on dies. We don't use any fancy software for everything; a lot of it is still done based on years of experience and manual skill. It’s a tough way to make a living, but it’s what we know.
