S. V. Dies & Tools

S. V. Dies & Tools is based in Malad West. We are at No. 28-A inside the Bombay Talkies Compound. If you’ve ever been to this area, you know it has a lot of history and old buildings. Our space is functional. It’s got that smell of metal and grease that you expect in a tool shop. We spend our hours working on dies and various mechanical parts. It is noisy work, but we are used to it. The compound itself is always active with different businesses doing their own thing. We don't have fancy signage or bright lights. Just a sturdy door and our machines inside. Some of the equipment we use is older but it works exactly how it should. We spend a lot of time measuring things and making sure the cuts are right. It’s dusty work too. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things going. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. We wear our work clothes and get our hands dirty every single day. Getting to Malad can be a bit of a crawl in the evenings with the traffic, but we’ve been here long enough that it’s just routine. We keep a stock of different steels and metals in the corner. When a job comes in, we just get to it. It’s a straightforward way to make a living and we don't try to make it sound fancy.
