We run the place where people come when they need to get their visas sorted out. It is often quite a tense atmosphere because everyone is worried about their documents and whether they will get to travel or not. Our days are filled with checking passports, taking fingerprints, and making sure all the forms are filled in correctly. We see a lot of different faces from people going on holiday to students moving abroad for school. The office is designed to move people through as quickly as possible but there is always a bit of a wait. We have those rows of plastic chairs and the numbers popping up on the screen to tell you which window to go to. It can feel a bit repetitive for us sometimes but we know it's important for the people standing on the other side of the counter. We don't really have a say in who gets a visa or not we just collect everything and send it where it needs to go. The staff here is pretty efficient and we try to keep the lines moving so nobody is stuck here longer than they have to be. We have a lot of rules to follow and the security is quite strict which is just how it has to be in this line of work. It is a busy environment and there is rarely a quiet moment during the day.
