Our shop is located at No. 223/223 in Swadeshi Market, right on Dr. Vigas Street. Being near the church makes it easy for people to find us, though the market can get pretty crowded during the middle of the day. We spend most of our time dealing with different fabrics and designs. It’s a tight space, filled with stacks of material and rolls of cloth. We’ve been here long enough that we know the sounds of the street pretty well. Usually, we are busy cutting or measuring things for customers who want something specific made. It’s not a quiet job. There is always some noise from the street or people talking in the hallways of the market. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know how things work here. Sometimes the lighting isn't great, but we manage. People come to us when they need something that isn't just off a shelf. We try to keep things organized, but when a big shipment comes in, there are bags everywhere for a few days. The Swadeshi Market area has a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of that. We don't spend money on fancy signs or anything. We just open up in the morning and see what the day brings. Most of our customers have been coming to this street for years. It’s a practical way to earn a living, and we just keep at it every single day without much fuss.
