Unme Bags

You can find Unme Bags at 18, Usha Kiran on Michael Road. It’s just off Peddar Road, so it’s a bit quieter than the main drag. The building is a mix of people living there and small businesses like ours. We have a modest space where we do all our work. It’s mostly filled with different types of cloth and cutting tools. We don't have a big sign outside or a fancy entrance. Most of our day is spent at the long workbenches. We check the seams and make sure the handles are on straight. It’s quiet work for the most part, except for the sound of the machines. We’ve been here for a while now and we know the neighbors pretty well. We often have boxes stacked up near the door ready to go out. It isn't a place meant for browsing like a mall. It’s a workspace. The lighting isn't the best, but we have lamps at every station so we can see what we are doing. We usually eat lunch together at one of the tables once the morning rush of cutting is over. Michael Road is a nice spot, and being tucked away in Usha Kiran gives us the room to focus. We don't worry about being a big brand or anything like that. We just make the bags and try to keep things moving. It’s a simple life and we like the routine of it.
