Trupti Namkeen & Wafers

Trupti Namkeen & Wafers is our family business located in Borivali West. You can find us at the 11th Cross, 7th Block, on Kanakpura Main Road, number 23. We spend most of our time around big fryers and bags of potatoes. Making wafers is a lot noisier than you’d think. The shop always smells like oil and spices, which is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We make different kinds of namkeen and crispy wafers for the local families here. Borivali is a lively place, and people here really love their snacks, especially in the evenings. We do everything by hand mostly, from peeling to seasoning. It’s hard work and the kitchen gets very hot, especially in the summer months. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. Word just spreads because people like what we make. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come by just to see the machines working. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting the crunch right. It’s been our life for a long time now. We just keep the bags filled and the shelves stocked for whoever walks in. It’s what we know how to do best, and we don't plan on doing anything else. Making these snacks is just our way of life and we hope the quality stays just as it is.
