Total Express

Our place, Total Express, is over in Ghatkopar West on the 1st Main Road, inside building B 106. It is a busy street, so there is always some noise from the rickshaws and trucks passing by throughout the day. The office is located on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to drop in, but it also means a lot of dust comes in from the road. We spend a good part of our morning just dusting off the desks and the computer screens. It is not a fancy corporate headquarters by any stretch of the imagination. We have some old wooden shelves that are sagging under the weight of all the logs and registers we keep. The air conditioner is a bit temperamental and works whenever it feels like it, so we mostly rely on the ceiling fans to stay cool. Our team is small, just a few of us who have been working together for a couple of years now. We know the neighborhood well, and we’ve seen how much it has changed with the new shops opening up nearby. We usually have our lunch together in the back room around two in the afternoon. It is a quiet routine we have. We don't do anything special or use any big words to describe what we do. We just come in, handle the work that is waiting for us, and head home once the sun goes down. It is honest work in a busy part of Mumbai.
