Tortuga Foods Private Limited

Our business, Tortuga Foods, is based in Mahim on Mori Road. We are on the third floor of a building called Contractor Baugh, in unit B-16. Mumbai is a crowded city, and Mahim is right in the middle of it all. Being on the third floor gives us a bit of a break from the noise of the street, but you can still hear the city moving outside. We aren't a big corporation. It’s just a few of us in a regular office space. We focus on food, which keeps us pretty busy from morning to night. The building is an older one, so it has a lot of character. We don't have a fancy elevator or a marble lobby. It’s just stairs and walls and our desks. We spend a lot of time on the phone and on our computers making sure things are running correctly. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s ours and we do it. We like the local vibe of Mori Road. There are plenty of places to get a quick snack or a tea nearby. Working in Mumbai means you have to be fast and flexible. We’ve learned to adapt to whatever comes our way. Whether it’s heavy rain or traffic delays on the way in, we just keep going. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a list of things to do every single morning. It’s a practical way to work in this city.
