Our office is on the fifth floor of Diamond Plaza, which sits right on Dr. Dadasaheb Bhadkamkar Marg. A lot of people still call it Lamington Road, though. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai, and there’s always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside. Being five floors up helps, but you still feel the energy of the street. We have a lot of people coming in for different types of paperwork and trade questions. It’s a hub for the jewelry export business, but the office itself is quite plain. We’ve got rows of desks and plenty of filing cabinets. The elevators in Diamond Plaza are usually packed, so you have to be patient if you’re coming to see us. We don't have any flashy displays or anything like that. It’s mostly just people at their computers and stacks of documents that need to be processed. The neighborhood is famous for electronics and spare parts, so it’s always crowded. We’ve been at this address for a long time. It’s a practical location because it’s central for many of the trade people we work with. We just come in, handle the administrative tasks, and keep things moving. There’s no corporate fluff here. We just try to stay organized and help out the members who come to us with their export issues. It’s a busy, noisy, but functional place for everyone involved.
