Our place is tucked away in 16 Joshi Building over at P D Joshi Chowk in Mahim. It’s an old-school kind of building where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have been handling both the catering side and the video stuff from this same spot for years. It might seem like a weird mix to some, but to us, it’s just the daily routine. Mahim is always bustling, and the chowk gets really jammed during the peak hours. Sometimes the smell of spices from the kitchen downstairs mixes with the plastic smell of the video equipment, which is just how our workday smells. We’ve got a lot of cables and big pots sitting around. It’s not the most organized-looking office you’ll ever see, but we know exactly where everything is kept. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to get around to it. Most of our neighbors are shops too, so there is a lot of shouting back and forth across the hall. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking lists for upcoming events. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. People come in to talk about their parties or look at old tapes. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy at all, just a local Mahim business trying to keep up with the work coming in.
