About Taruni Shroff Marriage Bureau – Event & Planning in Mumbai
I’m based over at Malabar Hill 85. It’s a quiet enough spot for what I do. People come in and out all day looking for matches. I’ve got drawers full of biodata and photos that I try to keep organized, though it’s hard when things get busy. I don't use any of those fancy computer programs to tell me who fits with who. I just look at the papers and talk to the families when they sit on the sofa in my living room. It's more about knowing people than anything else. Sometimes a meeting takes twenty minutes, sometimes it takes two hours if the tea is good. I’ve seen a lot of families come through this door over the years. Some are picky, some are just worried. I listen to all of them. The phone rings a lot in the evenings. I try to keep the records updated so I don't mix up the names. It’s just me here most of the time. My neighbors probably wonder why so many strangers visit, but that's just how the bureau runs. It's a bit old fashioned, maybe. But people keep coming back because they know I'm here at the same address. I don't plan on moving anytime soon. There's a lot of history in these files. I keep the curtains closed in the afternoon to keep the heat out, but the door is always unlocked for visitors who need help.
