Suburban Lime & Hardware Centre

Our place is at 402, Haji Mohmmad Noora Lane in Bandra West. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot, but people find us. Hardware is a heavy business. We sell lime and tools and all sorts of things for building. The floor is always a bit dusty from the lime bags. We wear old clothes because everything gets dirty quickly. Bandra is a fancy place in some parts, but our lane is just regular work. We have hammers, nails, and buckets everywhere. Sometimes a customer comes in and doesn't know the name of the tool they need. They try to describe it with their hands. We usually figure it out. It’s a lot of lifting and moving stuff around. My back hurts by the end of the week. We have a small radio that plays old songs in the corner. It helps when there are no customers. We get a lot of local contractors who are always in a hurry. They want everything yesterday. We just tell them to wait a minute. You can't rush these things. The shop has been here for a while now. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know us from the neighborhood. We open the shutters at nine and close when the sun goes down. It's honest work and it keeps us going in this busy city. We hope to stay open as long as people need nails and lime for their homes.
