Being in Chandni Chowk means it is always crowded. Aashika Cotton Mills Pvt. Ltd. sits at 348/14 Haider Quli, and if you’ve ever been down these lanes, you know how tight it gets. We’ve stayed in this spot because it’s where everything happens. The walls are old and the stairs are a bit steep, but it works for us. We deal with cotton, mostly. It’s dusty work and by the end of the shift, everyone has little white bits in their hair. We don't have a lobby or a receptionist. If you come in, you’ll probably just see someone hauling a bale of cloth or sitting at a desk covered in ledgers. Chandni Chowk has a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of that, even if we’re just another mill in the middle of it all. The noise from the street outside never really stops, so we just talk a bit louder. We get our shipments in early before the crowds get too thick. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving things by hand and making sure the cotton is stored where it won’t get damp. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It’s just cotton. We buy it, we process it, and we send it out. It’s been the same routine for years, and we don't see any reason to change it now.
