Shree Ganesh Opticals

Our shop is right on the ground floor at 431 Kalbadevi. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets. There are people everywhere and the noise never really stops. We’ve been here for a while, selling frames and fixing lenses for whoever walks in. It’s a small space, but we manage to fit everything in. My father used to say that a shop in Kalbadevi is better than a palace anywhere else because of the people. We see all kinds of faces every day. Some people have been coming to us for their glasses for twenty years. They bring their kids now, which is nice to see. We have a lot of different frames tucked away in the drawers. It isn't always organized perfectly, but I know exactly where everything is. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power acts up, but we keep going. We aren't a big chain store with bright neon signs. We just have our little spot on the ground floor. If you need your nose pads replaced or a screw tightened, we just do it. It’s practical work. The dust from the street gets in sometimes, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass cases. It is just part of being here. We don't really have a big sales pitch. You come in, look at some frames, and we see what fits. Simple as that. No pressure or anything. Just us working at the shop every day.
