Steel Mart India

We operate out of the second ground floor unit in the Shashi Kripa Building. If you know Paowala Street, you know it’s a tight area with a lot of commerce happening at once. Steel Mart India is basically what the name says—we deal with steel. We spend most of our time on the phone or checking the latest lists of what we have in stock. The office isn't anything special. It’s got a few desks, some filing cabinets that have seen better days, and stacks of paperwork everywhere. Being on the ground floor makes it easier when people need to drop by or when we need to coordinate a delivery. Paowala Street can be a bit of a nightmare for parking, but we manage somehow. We aren't some big corporate conglomerate with a hundred branches. It’s just a small team of us here trying to keep track of the steel market and making sure our customers get what they ordered. It’s a lot of logistics, really. We talk to suppliers, we talk to transporters, and we try to make sure everything lines up. Sometimes things get delayed, and we have to spend the afternoon making calls to figure out where the truck is. It’s the kind of job that keeps you busy from morning till night. We’ve been in Shashi Kripa for a while now and the neighbors are all good people. It works for us.
